Long Time No Blog!

Hi my sweetest friends!! It's been forever since I did a blog on my actual website! Between four kids, my husband going back to work, trying to show up on all the social media platforms and running a handmade business. I struggle with the balance of it all! But I have been getting organized as much as I can even with the changes that life throws our way. The day after Halloween its my favorite time of year for wax melt making because we are doing our yearly tradition of wax melt advent calendars. I'm really doing my best to sell as many of those as I can because has not been an easy year for our small business.

Many of you know I got very sick a few months ago. Along with our usual suppliers letting us and others down tremendously this year and have finally found my momentum once again! Very grateful to still be doing what I love and celebrating 9 years in business this past October! Thank you all for making that happen. I have plans of doing more updates like this here on the first of every month and maybe some extra ones in between. I've had a good cry about things not going the way I'd hoped for this business the past few years. I miss my husband being home to help with our kids and the business. Sometimes I think it's a blessing in disguise because its a reminder of how much I love and adore what we do here and gives me so much more ambition to fight for it. I've found a new energy and soul behind this business and I'm putting my heart and soul into getting back into making donation melts for our local community as well as our wax community. Coming to terms that many of our small business friends are also struggling and I'm sure you've seen our fellow wax melt makers closing up their shops at an alarming pace. If I can use my platform and labor to bring us all together that would bring a whole new life and meaning to this business for me. We've connected for a long time now through social media and our love of fragrance and I would love to open our space for more of that in the coming years. The mindset I try to have is that if we put ourselves out there enough we can find someone to make for. Word of mouth is always such a powerful thing for small businesses and I miss the times when people were able to show what they got in their boxes and hear all the thoughts on what they loved most!
We are doing handmade Christmas in our family this year! So if you have any gift ideas from small businesses let me know! We have 1 girl and 3 boys under the age of ten. (they really love anything art related)
Anyway, I hope you had a really fun Halloween! And thank you for catching up with us! Leave an update below with how you're doing! I would love to hear from you!
Love, Ash at The Starlit Corner
